ARTIST TALK with NICOLE WHITE: THE THING AND ITS STUFF

Functioning as an addendum to Heidegger’s 1935 essay, “The Origin of the Work of Art,” Nicole White will attempt to deconstruct photography’s constantly fluctuating position in the arts. Heidegger’s concept of “thing-ness” will act as the starting point for a longer discussion around photographic materiality. White will cite examples of her recent work in hopes to convey how these ideas have infiltrated her artistic practice.
