Intro to Capture Scanning

​Join us for an introductory tutoring session on Capture Scanning to achieve high-quality scans of your film using LATITUDE's new Capture Scanner. In this session, participants will learn to:​

  • Adjust the scanning workstation to accommodate various film formats, including 35mm, 120, and 4x5. The Capture Scanner supports scanning of black and white, color, and positive films.​

  • Set appropriate camera settings to ensure optimal exposure.​

  • Develop a digital workflow utilizing Sony's Remote and Capture applications.​

  • Manage and invert .ARQ files, including tasks such as sizing, making rectilinear adjustments, and exporting final files.​

  • Import images using Camera Raw.​

Participants will leave the session with two ultra high-resolution digital files of film frames they provide or from LATITUDE's demo materials. Additionally, attendees will receive up to two extra hours of scanner usage following the demonstration.This prerequisite also unlocks DIY use of the Capture Scanner which is $25 per session (not including Latitude day fee of $15).

This 3 hour, one-on-one session will be scheduled individually with the Education Coordinator. Purchase will reserve your space and time/date have to be confirmed.

Refund Policy: For all LATITUDE courses, full payment is required to reserve your spot in the class. If you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, LATITUDE can provide a 100% refund for cancellations made 10 days prior to the start date of the course. Cancellations made with less than the 7 day notice will be given a 100% lab credit. Cancellations made within 72 hours of class run will be given a credit for 50% of the purchase price which can be used for any lab purchases, including re-enrollment, in the future. No refund for cancellations made on the start day of the course and will be considered a donation to the space.

Reschedule Policy: Latitude recognizes that unforeseen circumstances such as illness, work commitments, and caregiving responsibilities may necessitate rescheduling an appointment. To manage scheduling effectively and ensure fair access to our services for all community members, we allow each participant to reschedule their tutoring session up to three times within a six-month period.​

After the third reschedule, the fee for the tutoring session will be considered a donation to the organization, and the participant will need to purchase a new session at the standard rate.​

This policy helps us maintain a structured and equitable scheduling system while accommodating the occasional need for flexibility.​
