COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This intensive workshop introduces artists to the essentials of digitally preparing and physically packaging their work for selling prints at art markets. Participants will learn basic digitization techniques, efficient Photoshop workflows for print, explore printing and paper options, and techniques for professionally packaging prints of their work for buyers.

By the end of this session, participants will:

  • Identify the appropriate digitizing techniques for reproducing physical artwork.

  • Understand common frame sizes, aspect ratios, common printing options, and paper types.

  • Learn best practices for preparing print-ready files using Photoshop.

  • Practice practical packaging solutions and assemble a ready-for-market checklist.

  • Understand basic personal artist branding

What to bring:

  • A file storage device.

  • 1-5 digital images.

Participants leave the workshop with:

  • One Print mounted in a “market-ready” package 

  • An understanding of digitizing media and packaging options.

  • A step-by-step workflow for producing market-ready prints for art markets.

Matilda Brumbaugh

Matilda (she/her) is an artist and designer from the Pacific Northwest. She began working at Latitude as a Tech Fellow in October of 2023 and joined the staff as a Lab Technician in January of 2024. She received her BFA from Oregon State University in 2019.

Refund Policy: For all LATITUDE courses, full payment is required to reserve your spot in the class. If you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, LATITUDE can provide a 100% refund for cancellations made 10 days prior to the start date of the course. Cancellations made with less than the 7 day notice will be given a 100% lab credit. Cancellations made within 72 hours of class run will be given a credit for 50% of the purchase price which can be used for any lab purchases, including re-enrollment, in the future. No refund for cancellations made on the start day of the course and will be considered a donation to the space.
