On Monday, September 8th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, LATITUDE will host a panel discussion and workshop organized by Filter Photo. How to Prepare for a Portfolio Review is free and open to the public, and will be especially helpful to anyone receiving portfolio reviews at the 2014 Filter Photo Festival.

From Filter Photo:

"Portfolio reviews are an excellent way for you to meet and show your work to gallery owners, curators, book publishers and other industry professionals and being properly prepared is essential for you to get the most out of your reviews. Photographer/Art Consultant Susan Aurinko, Gallerist Paul Berlanga (Berlanga Fine Art/Stephen Daiter Gallery), and veteran reviewees and photographers Maggie Meiners and Yvette Meltzer will answer all your questions about how to choose reviewers, hone your pitch, how many prints and projects to bring, leave-behinds, following up afterwards and much more. After the discussion, we will break into small groups and have people practice their pitch and presentation, so please bring prints or a portfolio to share.

While this discussion is aimed at those who are newer to the portfolio review process, photographers of all levels and experience are encourage to come and participate. This will be an evening of open sharing and free advice for any photographers thinking of participating in portfolio reviews."
