In November of 2015 LATITUDE instituted an Administrative Fellowship program. Welcome to Shir Ende, Lauren Goldstein, and Emily Simpson! The three of them will support the organization with communication and outreach, programming, and general administration. LATITUDE was founded on the philosophical ideals of collaboration and collective learning. This approach is evident in the daily operation of the lab, where users and Lab Assistants freely share technical and conceptual advice. Under the guidance of the organization’s Executive Director and Board of Directors, the Fellows will learn and gradually assume responsibility for the full range of the organization’s operations. Upon completion of the Fellowship, the Fellows will have substantial experience in all areas of nonprofit administration including programming, social media marketing, grant writing, and legal filings.
Since the program’s inception the three Fellows have strategized opportunities for an expanded social media and web presence, scheduled events and new programming, and planned out grant applications. The LATITUDE team is committed to upholding the integrity of the institution through transparent work and community commitment, and recognizes that the success and longevity of a nonprofit organization depends on the dedication and hard work of many. The addition of the Administrative Fellowship to LATITUDE’s infrastructure provides a framework for growth and sustainability. We look forward to experimenting out this innovative organizational redesign!
