LATITUDE is excited to announce our first OpenEd Program for 2018, Photobook Basics with Kioto Aoki!
About OpenED: LATITUDE hosted an open call for educational programming proposals in the fall of 2017. From this open call LATITUDE will be running five pieces of public programming proposed by emerging local artists and scholars, and developed alongside LATITUDE staff.
Kioto, will cover the technical aspects of hand-binding as well as layout and sequencing of images. Students will work with preliminary bookmaking techniques appropriate for photobooks including single page, pamphlet stitching, and accordion bindings. The course is designed to help photographers transform a small body of images into a tangible form with the final result being a small edition of artist books.
Participants will be able to use LATITUDE’s facilities for free to print their projects through the duration of the workshop and will receive a basic bookbinding kit with all the tools they will need! Please note that paper will not be provided.
Space is limited to 10 participants so grab your spot early! Questions? Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
