INSTRUCTOR: Grace Coudal

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

LATITUDE is excited to announce our first educational offering in our new space with Grace Coudal, our former Programming Fellow! 2 hour intimately-sized critique of personal projects to provide feedback and community building for queer photographers and their subjects, crit group by and for queer photographers. Open to all types of fine art photography. This session is ideal for people with active personal practices, not necessarily professional or editorial, who are looking to engage with the queer photographic community and will come with insight, opinions, and the capacity to actively listen.

Participants are expected to submit 1-5 images via GoogleFormsno later than June 5th at noon CST to be displayed on a projector for group discussion. Feedback per participant will be limited to 8-10 minutes.

This is a sliding scale program. The instructor will receive a base rate or 50% of the profits depending on enrollment and payments, whichever is greater.

Space is limited to 10 participants total so grab your spot early!

Please be advised that enrolled participants for this session plan to show work containing sexually explicit content and adult themes. If you prefer not to engage with this content, please enroll in another critique group. We support your autonomy in making the choice that feels right for you.

Refund Policy: For all LATITUDE courses, full payment is required to reserve your spot in the class. If you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, LATITUDE can provide a 100% refund for cancellations made 10 days prior to the start date of the course. Cancellations made with less than the 7 day notice will be given a 100% lab credit. Cancellations made within 72 hours of class run will be given a credit for 50% of the purchase price which can be used for any lab purchases, including re-enrollment, in the future. No refund for cancellations made on the start day of the course and will be considered a donation to the space.

Grace Coudal

Grace Coudal is a Chicago-based artist and working photographer. Her work explores soft moments of intimacy and identity. Utilizing film photography as a way to archive the present and add to the current queer visuality of Midwest culture, Coudal seeks to document tender and subtle moments with her various subjects, exploring interiority and exteriority. She received her BFA in Art & Design and her minor in Sexuality & LGBTQ+ Studies from the University of Michigan. She has experience leading critique groups and photography workshops, and had the privilege of studying with some of her early inspirations, including Catherine Opie and Jess T. Dugan.


How to Vist our New Space

When arriving at 2003 West Fulton there are two entrances. Please use the 2nd set of doors from Damen Ave. On the box select the "Call" button and find "Latitude." That will call us and we will buzz you in. Upon entering use the ramp or stair to get to the elevator. Latitude is located on the second floor.
