THIS CLASS REQUIRES YOU TO BRING YOUR OWN CAMERA WITH MANUAL CONTROLS.
LATITUDE WILL NOT SUPPLY A CAMERA.
Participants in this workshop will learn the fundamentals of manual photography, including shutter speed, aperture, and ISO. After talking about the basics of film photography and how to load film into your manual camera, you will apply these new skills during a guided photowalk.
For the second week, Latitude will provide scans of the images you shoot on the photowalk, and we will look at each participant's images. This will provide you with feedback and strategies to further develop your photography skills.
This class will be broken into 2 sessions:
Session 1: Understanding Manual Settings & Photowalk
Learning shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and how to meter depending on lighting conditions
How to load film in your camera
Feel confident in shooting manual and adjusting settings to impact your image making
This session includes a 24-exposure roll of color film, development and scanning provided by Latitude.
Apply the skills you learned in the previous session to shoot with confidence
Walk around the neighborhood as a group, getting help and feedback along the way
Session 2: Feedback on the images you took during the walk
As a class, we will view everyone’s images, talk through choices, feedback on technical and fundamental photographic skills
Accessibility Notes: Please note that the photowalk portion of this workshop will involve potentially uneven terrain.
