Ready to take your photography to the next level? In this immersive SLR workshop, we’ll unlock the secrets of manual settings and exposure control, empowering you to create professional-quality images with confidence. Learn how to fine-tune shutter speed, aperture, and ISO to capture the perfect shot, no matter the lighting conditions. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this hands-on workshop will give you the tools to see the world through your lens with complete creative freedom.
This class requires that you have a 35mm SLR camera that is fully manual or has manual settings, as this workshop will focus on mastering manual exposure control.
Session 1: Mastering Manual Settings In the first session, we’ll dive deep into your camera’s technical settings, covering everything from shutter speed and aperture to ISO and how they work together to control exposure. You’ll learn how to fine-tune each setting to get the perfect shot in any situation—whether it's bright sunlight or a dimly lit room. By the end of this session, you'll feel confident shooting in manual mode, understanding how each adjustment impacts your image.
Session 2: Photowalk & Application The second session is all about putting your newfound knowledge to the test! We’ll head out for a photowalk, giving you the opportunity to apply the technical skills you've learned in real-world settings. Whether you're in the hustle of an urban environment or surrounded by nature, you’ll have a chance to experiment with different exposure settings, focus techniques, and composition tips. You'll receive real-time feedback to fine-tune your approach, ensuring you leave with not only great shots but the confidence to shoot anywhere, anytime.
Workshop Objectives:
Master Manual Exposure Settings: Understand how shutter speed, aperture, and ISO work together to create the perfect exposure.
Develop Technical Confidence: Gain the skills to shoot confidently in manual mode without relying on automatic settings.
Gain Control Over Lighting: Learn to adjust your settings for different lighting conditions, from bright sunlight to low-light environments.
Why Take This Workshop?
Two Practical Sessions: A structured approach to learning—first, we build your technical foundation, then you get to apply it in the field.
Hands-On Learning: Move beyond theory with real-time application of your skills.
Expert Guidance: Get personalized feedback and advice during the photowalk to refine your skills.
Capture Stunning Shots: Learn how to master manual exposure settings to create photos that stand out, no matter the lighting or subject.
