Diego Rodriguez
Diego Rodriguez’s practice revolves around what it means to be alive, sensible, and experiencing a moment. Most of his photographs and writing are tangential to the natural world and he uses the 3 to visually interpret sentience and the human condition. Through his use of textiles and exhibition design, he makes 2D photographs sculptural and tangible, influencing the audience to stop, consider, and be present. Diego’s interest in Presence stems from his past diagnosis of generalized anxiety. His blurry, painterly photographs demonstrate the fog that may be felt with generalized anxiety disorder and inversely, his cropped and detailed photographs demonstrate the clarity that is sought within it. By showing both sides and leading the viewer to a pause, Diego evokes a sense of reprieve and quietude in his work.
