TAITAITAITAI
I create perverse dioramas with alterations on inorganic materials where organic materials can succumb to the elements of time, pressure, and force. I am interested in showing their process of being changed as well as the forms they exist before/after the pressure, live, in the exhibiting. As a trained movement artist, I have recently been concerned with the human condition to be obsessed with finality and form where there is a lot more nuance and agency staying in uncertainty and noting the feelings at hand. My interest in making installations now are to trigger proprioception, tactility, and olfactory connection for people to be more attuned to their body responses to conflict and resolution.
THOUGHTS ON THE LAB
It was really special to have Latitude to realize my installation dreams as it was just coming to me December 2026, after finishing my performance at the Museum of Contemporary Art through the Lit and Luz Festival. It was also a dream month to learn image transfer and to be able to escape from real life money and body woes by immersing myself in the haven of printers, ink, and substrate! Thankful for the time and resources.
