Sensuous Entanglement explores the layered ways Black erotic imagery circulates through personal memory, archival research, and material. The work draws a pornographic publication discovered among the hidden belongings of a loved one after their passing—alongside a worn party flyer, a playing card, and other collected ephemera. These materials reflect on the different ways we encounter erotic media across generations, blurring the boundaries between private inheritance and institutional archives. Constructed with felt a material made by binding separate fibers into a unified whole this piece echoes themes of fragmentation, sexuality, accumulation, and intimate entanglement.

Bri Robinson is an analog mixed media artist, & historian who encodes narratives of love & loss across the expansive Midwest. Raised in Ohio and now based in Chicago, Bri’s work reflects the verve of the region, combining personal history with questions of sexuality & technology . Brought up by a large, close-knit family, Bri draws inspiration from the everyday moments and memories that shape our lives. Within their improvisational process of collecting and repair, embedding archival materials with elements of popular culture, they create collages that invite viewers to witness the complexities of the queer experience at the intersection of analog & digital technologies.
