KEN ROSENTHAL
The photographs in A Night on Fire, The Flood, and The Falls, the majority of which are nocturnes, allegorically explore the evolution and fallout from recent personal challenges. The landscapes within serve as a psychological analog for the emotions and turmoil that resulted from this adversity. I’ve found myself drawn primarily to locations shaped or altered by uncontrollable forces both natural and manmade, spaces where beauty, wonder, mystery, and devastation intersect.
THOUGHTS ON THE LAB
Working with the staff at Latitude and with the Piezo Pro inks greatly enhanced my understanding of what could be achieved in a digital print. As someone who likes to push the limits of whatever printing process I work with, the reslts were was beyond what I thought possible which helped inform the way I now approach exposing my images in extremely low light situations
